Women's Empowerment Initiative

Gatehouse continues to develop its women’s initiative.

In April 2012 we co-hosted a prestigious forum at Dar Al-Hekma College in Saudi Arabia, in partnership with CBRE. The event was held to help women in the Kingdom improve their understanding of real estate investments with a particular focus on the UK market.

This was the first event of its kind in Saudi Arabia; an educational initiative to equip Saudi women with the skills to invest in real estate. By supporting education and sharing knowledge, Gatehouse is not only helping women to realise their potential as investors, but also giving them the tools and knowledge to play a fundamental role in business and long term wealth preservation across the region.

In September 2012, Gatehouse hosted an event as part of the second Gulf Women Economic Forum, entitled ‘Investment Opportunities for Women in the GCC’. In the same month we hosted a related event in Kuwait under the patronage of Sheikha Aida Salem AlAli AlSabah and organised by Nabila Al Anjari, General Manager of the Leaders Group - Kuwait.

In April 2013, Gatehouse organised an educational workshop hosted by the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) as part of its Professional Women Networking event, which was attended by 70 Kuwaiti female oil and gas professionals.

Gatehouse has also implemented an international training and education internship programme for GCC students in collaboration with City of London’s Mansion House Scholarship Scheme and the Qatar Foundation’s Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies. In 2011, the Bank accepted its first scholar, Aisha Ahmed Ali Al-Ishaq.
